Life Insurance on Ex-Husband?

I am Divorced for 10 years and just got married again 2 years ago.

My Ex husband had not seen my son in 5 years (although he pays child support) and is now showing up to see him.

I had canceled a life insurance policy on my ex-husband awhile back, will it look okay if I try to insure him again?

Sure, but he'd need to submit to the medical exam, and sign off permission for you to insure his life.

When buying a life insurance policy on another person there must exist an "Insurable Interest" between the insured person and the owner of the policy.

Since you and your ex-husband have a son together, and your son relies on his father for child support, you can purchase a life insurance policy on him.

Usually, the insured person (your ex-husband) would be required to sign the life insurance application and he may be required to answer health questions, as well as, possibly taking a physical exam.

Life insurance - Pre existing condition?

I want to get some life insurance but I do not know if I should disclose the fact that I went to the Emergency Room back in July 09 with some chest tightness.

I was extremely stressed and went just because my doctor office told me I should go just to be sure when I tried to get an appointment with my primary doctor.

They did a series of tests and did not find anything wrong (basically, this was a false alarm). They told me that I should follow up with a cardiologist which I never did. Could that be considered pre-existing condition in case I were to have something wrong with me?

It may be considered a pre-existing condition, but since no follow-up was done, you don't know if you have any health problem.

You should disclose it if the life insurance application asks for the information, or in the case of your death the company may be able to legally refuse to pay the claim perhaps based on not disclosing a material fact about your health which may cause death.

When the life insurance company runs the Medical Information Bureau report on you, they'll find it anyway, and if you don't disclose it, they will probably deny your application for leaving that off - and the denial may be reported to all other life insurance companies you apply to, so you may want to disclose the information.

Upon review of your application for life insurance, the insurance company may require you take a full physical exam and have a cardiologist check your health.

This depends on the life insurance company, their underwriting of your application, and how your physical exam goes.

However, there are life insurance no medical exam plans that do not require a physical exam, just a few health questions. These plans may cost more, and usually limit the amount of coverage available.

You should always answer all questions truthfully on your application for life insurance.

Affordable Life Insurance with No Health Exam?

Has anyone found an affordable life insurance with no health exam?

My father needs life insurance and has some health problems.

He needs something with low monthly payments, but will provide enough if he has a natural death.

Life insurance plans that do not require a physical exam usually offer limited amounts of protection at higher than normal premiums.

And, sometimes people with a health condition may find lower rates by comparing plans and premiums from several insurers that do require a physical.

That being said, you do have options that may be available for your father to choose from for life insurance that does not require a physical exam.

Some plans are available for limits of life insurance from $10,000 up to $500,000 depending on the insurer, your father's age and health, and your budget.

One plan is offered by Globe Life Insurance that provides up to $30,000 of simplified life insurance with no medical exam for people age 78 and under.

Here's an article that reviews several leading plans for life insurance with no health exam required, just a few health questions.

You can review the plans and request free quotes for coverage for your father.

NOTE: Depending on the plan you choose, your father may need to own the life insurance policy for 1-2 years before full coverage is provided - keep this in mind and review the offers before making a choice.

Should your wife be included as a beneficiary?

Who should be the beneficiary of your life insurance policy?

The answer depends on your own personal situation. If you are married and want to leave your life insurance to your wife so she can handle the money and provide for your family, you may want to name her as the primary beneficiary.

It is usually a good idea to name a secondary beneficiary in case something were to happen to your wife so someone else would receive the proceeds and be able to manage the money for your family.

But, maybe your wife is not good with handling money, or perhaps you want your parents to oversee the proceeds of your life insurance policy so your children will be provided for in the future.

There's now one right answer for everyone. It really depends on your situation, your goals for the life insurance policy, and what you are trying to accomplish in providing life insurance benefits for your family.

Here's an article that explains things to consider when choosing a beneficiary of a life insurance policy.

How long does tobacco show up on a life insurance exam?

I'm getting life insurance and I have to take a medical exam that checks for tobacco in your system.

I am not a regular smoker but I did have a few cigars last week. I would hate to have to pay a smokers rate because I had a few cigars at a poker game.

If you show up positive for tobacco in your shstem, you may be rated as a smoker by the life insurance company.

It depends on the type of nicotine testing used to detect tobacco usage. Nicotine testing for life insurance may take a few different forms.

If it's a typical blood test, any residues of cotinine should be gone in about ten days.

If the 'hair follicle' test is used, evidence of cotinine may remain in your hair until it is cut off.

Here's an article explaining Insurance Nicotine Testing and what to consider. In addition, there's information about life insurance with no exam required.

Does Life Insurance Blood Test for Pot?

Does the life insurance blood test check for marijuana in your system?

And, if they do, is it possible to get no blood life insurance coverage that does not require any blood testing when you apply for a life insurance policy?

Actually, most life insurers may test your blood for many things, including illegal drug use, cocaine, marijuana, and other substances.

If you live n a jurisdiction that has legalized marijuana for medical purposes, and you have a medical marijuana prescription, the life insurance company may insure you for life insurance.

Usually, life insurance companies may require a physical exam and blood test if you are purchasing $100,000 or more of life insurance coverage, or you are over a certain age, you have a health condition, or your answers on the life insurance application suggest a physical exam and blood test may be necessary to properly evaluate your as a risk for life insurance.

Make sure you answer all questions truthfully on your life insurance application because if you were to die as a result of a medical condition you lied about, your life insurer may not pay the claim to your beneficiary, subject to the terms, conditions, and exclusions stated in your life insurance policy.

However, there are plans that may offer you term life insurance without taking any blood tests required. In fact, there are more than 1 million people in the US that have a fear of needles and/or blood, and this type of life insurance helps those who just don;t want to take a blood test to qualify for life insurance.

Learn how you may qualify to buy term life insurance no blood tests required. if you qualify you may start your life insurance coverage today. There's no physical exam, just a few health questions.

No Questions Asked Life Insurance for Baby?

Where can I find "no questions asked" life insurance for my baby?

My baby was born with cystic fibrosis. Where I can get life insurance for him? He is very healthy right now (and always has been).

If you are looking for a policy to cover final expenses, you can contact your insurance agent and add your baby as a rider to your own life insurance policy. These are from $5,000-$10,000 and usually do don;t cost much.

There are always some questions that need to be answered when you apply for life insurance. But, there are also some guaranteed issue life insurance plans that may be available.

However, if you don't disclose the illness, then it may void the life insurance policy, if your child dies as a result of the health condition.

Also, now the information is in medical information bureau, so every life insurance company will know, so no point in lying about the condition.

Some life insurance companies that issue guaranteed issue policies are Mutual of Omaha, and Globe Life.

Keep in mind, they usually won't pay out unless the insured person lives at least two years after the policy is taken out.

Globe Childrens Life Insurance offers up to $30,000 of life insurance without any physical exam required. You can get a quote and apply for a policy online.

Term Insurance to Pay Off Your Mortgage?

What type of term insurance policy is suitable for paying off your home in cases of an early death?

There are several types of term insurance including level term, decreasing term, and no exam term insurance.

One of the most common types of term life coverage to use for paying off your home in case of death may be decreasing term insurance since it has level premiums each year, but the amount of life insurance decreases each year in line with your decreasing mortgage.

However, level term life insurance provides level premiums and coverage each year, so your family ends up with the money to pay off the mortgage, and they can use the remainder for any reason as well.

In addition, no exam term life insurance allows you to qualify for up to $500,000 of term life insurance without having to take a physical exam to qualify for your policy.

Life Insurance and Smoking?

Life insurance question?

If you sign up for a Life Insurance policy as a non tobacco user and a few years later you choose to start smoking...and don't tell the insurance company, is this fraud?

No, it is not fraud and you will still be covered by your life insurance policy.

At the time of the application for life insurance coverage you were a non-smoker.

That is what they assessed your risk at and that is what the rating will stay at on your life insurance policy.

They will still pay the claim if you die while your life insurance policy is in effect.

If anything, they will try to prove that you smoked at the time you filled out your application for life insurance, and will adjust the premiums accordingly taking the balance out of the death benefit before it's paid out to your beneficiary.

To say it's fraud is like saying "I was healthy when I got my life insurance but 2 years later I got sick and died from cancer. Is that fraud?" In both situations your status changed and it's what was accurate at the time you filled out the life insurance application that counts.

If you have any questions you can contact your life insurance agent or insurance company and request an answer in writing. Also, it's a good idea to read your life insurance policy and review the exclusions, terms and conditions to better understand how your life insurance policy works.

Life Insurance and Prescription Medication

Life insurance question?

If you have a relative who takes prescribed medicine everyday is it still possible to obtain life insurance or is there no way in this case?

Yes, probably a majority of people with life insurance take some kind of prescribed medication every day, whether it's for high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes, etc.

However, it may or may not be possible, depending on why the medicine is needed and what the person's medical condition is.

If the person is dying of cancer, they will most likely not be able to buy life insurance. If the medicine is birth control, it should not be a problem.

One way to find out is to compare free life insurance quotes online. You fill out a quote request form that asks some basic questions, and then you receive the lowest quotes for life insurance from several insurers. That way you can get an idea of how much it may cost you.

And, if your relative is declined for life insurance you can contact a life insurance agent in your area to help find an insurer who may specialize in finding high risk life insurance.

Life Insurance with Pre Existing Condition?

What are some insurance companies that will provide life insurance for people with a pre- existing condition such s hepatitis?

Finding life insurance if you have a pre-existing medical condition can be difficult, if not impossible depending on your health problem, your age, and which insurance companies you contact for coverage.

Some life insurers will not insure people with a medical condition, whereas, others may offer a limited amount of life insurance at a very high price.

Some options you have for finding life insurance if you have hepatitis include the following:

1. Contact a local licensed life insurance agent to help you request and compare life insurance rates and policies from insurers who may specialize in insuring people with hepatitis.

2. Compare term life insurance quotes online from a life insurance quote provider with access to a network of more than 70 life insurance companies to help you instantly compare rates and plans for term life insurance from the highest-rated insurance companies with no obligation, and no need to meet with an agent.

A medical condition like hepatitis may classify you as a high risk for life insurance coverage. That means your rates will be high and you may find it difficult to get life insurance. Here's an article explaining high risk life insurance for more information.

If you are unable to find a life insurance plan that accepts you for coverage, you may want to consider guaranteed life insurance plans that offer a limited amount of coverage.

Guaranteed acceptance life insurance usually offers $20,000 or less of life insurance with no medical exam required. The rates are high and full coverage is not available until you have owned the life insurance policy for 1-2 years.

At renewal the premium for a renewal term policy is based on what?

I own a term life insurance policy. What is my renewal premium based on for the renewal of my term life insurance policy?

Renewal term life insurance provides temporary coverage for 10, 15, 20, or 30 years, usually.

At renewal, the policy may allow you o renew your life insurance plan for another term.

The renewal provision is a clause within the insurance policy that permits an insured to renew the policy without having to take a medical examination.

Regardless of his or her physical condition, the premium cannot be increased at renewal to reflect an adverse medical condition, usually.

However, the new rate at renewal of your term policy will depend on your age at that time, the length of term for your term life renewal policy, and the amount of life insurance provided by your policy.
