Will life insurance exams test for marijuana?

I'm about to get life insurance and they want to do blood work and urinalysis.

I'm an occasional pot smoker and I'm not sure if I should be concerned about that or not.

I know there aren't any legal repercussions but my wife thinks they could deny me coverage and put me on some kind of list so I can't ever get life insurance.

I just want to know if I need to quit smoking pot and put the test off until I'm clean or if it's not a problem.

If you smoke marijuana you'll have to reveal that on the life insurance application, and yes, they'll test for marijuana either through blood work, urinalysis, or hair follicle.

If medical marijuana is legal in your area and you have a legal prescription, the life insurance company may accept you for coverage.

If you are declined due to testing positive for marijuana, it may be listed on a database of life insurance companies who share information on applicants. That means if you apply again for life insurance through another insurer, they may find out you were declined previously due to marijuana.

Another option is buying life insurance with no medical exam required. These plans offer up to $500,000 of life insurance with no physical, no blood test, and no urine test.

If you qualify for a no exam life insurance policy you can even start your life insurance coverage the same day.

However, you should always answer all questions truthfully on the life insurance application.

Do life insurance companies in nj test for thc/marijuana?

My girlfriend has a life insurance medical exam tomorrow and they are doing a urine test. Do they test for thc?

We live in new jersey and she told the insurance company already that she does not smoke.

Yes, the urine test will check for thc, marijuana, nicotine, and illegal drugs, etc.

If the urine test is positive for thc, she will probably be denied life insurance and the results will be in the database of insurers when she applies for life insurance with another insurance company.

Make sure you always answer all questions honestly when applying for life insurance so the insurance company does not have reason to decline a claim against your life insurance policy.

There are life insurance plans that do not require any medical exam, blood or urine testing.

In fact, you may qualify for up to $500,000 of term life insurance no exam required, just a few health questions. if you qualify, you may start your life insurance policy today.

Pro Marijuana Tax to help Save California Budget?

It seems a pro-marijuana group has an answer to the California budget crisis, or at least a way to help...

Start taxing marijuana in the State of California.

Will it be seriously considered by the Governor?

California Assembly Speaker Karen Bass said on Wednesday she sees stalled negotiations with Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger over closing the state's $26.3 billion budget gap resuming by Friday.

One option open to the government of the most populous U.S. state for raising revenue is to tax marijuana.

A television commercial, paid for by the Marijuana Policy Project Foundation, that began airing on Wednesday in some California broadcast markets.

It does seem that a tax on something that is currently being grown and sold in the state may help to reduce the budget crisis in California.

What do you think?
