Applying for Life Insurance with Diabetes?

Underwriting is asking my wife when she was first diagnose with diabetes for her life insurance.

Though these questions can be found by looking in her medical records, is having diabetes longer or recently help your chances of getting life insurance?

The date diabetes was diagnosed may not affect your wife's acceptance for life insurance.

She will probably qualify for life insurance - it's the Rates that the underwriter has to figure out, and that will depend on what Type diabetes you have.

They want to know if she's Type 1 or 2, and if they compare how long she's had it, what her weight is, and what her A1C levels are, that will be crucial.

Why does it matter? For example: If you have type 1, since you were 4, but aren't overweight, and have "normal" A1Cs, you're going to live longer than if you've got type 2, weigh 400 pounds, and have A1C levels in the double digits.

It's part of the whole picture - you can't just look at one aspect.

Now there are several life insurers with more experience and information, who are better able to review the risks associated with diabetes, so you may have a better chance of qualifying for quality, affordable life insurance coverage if you have diabetes, and manage your risk properly.

Here's how to learn more about Life Insurance for Diabetes and compare quotes and plans form several leading life insurers.
