What is only death benefit life insurance plan called?

Life insurance that provides only a death benefit, and no investment, is called term life insurance.

Term life insurance provides temporary life insurance protection and builds no cash value inside the policy.

That means, if you die while your life insurance policy is "In Force", your beneficiary would receive the death benefit from your life insurance policy, which is the face amount of your plan.

For instance, if you have a 10 year term life insurance policy for $250,000 and you die after 3 years, your family (beneficiary) would receive the $250,000 face amount of your life insurance plan.
